Vinyl Coated Fencing
What are the advantages of installing vinyl coated fencing?
You may be asking yourself that very question right now. Why would I want to get a fence that’s coated in vinyl when I can probably pay less
for a regular chain link fence.
Well, if you want to spend extra time maintaining an uncoated chain link fence then by all means save a few dollars and purchase it. But you
want a fence that you don’t have to re-paint every year -- a fence that won’t rust and that won’t corrode and won’t need replacing after a few
years then you need a vinyl coated fence.
Vinyl coated fencing is manufactured to withstand the elements.
It’s made of polyvinyl chloride and includes impact resistors and UV blockers to prevent erosion and degrading by the sun. Untreated vinyl can
yellow in the sun so make sure that any vinyl fencing you buy contains UV protection.
Without it the fencing will more than likely age quickly, yellow and crack from over-exposure to the sun light.
When buying your vinyl coated fence make sure you are buying a high-grade vinyl also.
There are different grades and thicknesses of vinyl and if you aren’t careful you may end up purchasing a fence with low-grade vinyl and that
could lead to the same problem you would face with low UV protection – the vinyl would age quickly, crack, corrode, split, and eventually
collapse.
Where should you purchase your vinyl coated fence? There are many places you can go to find
fencing. You have several options.
You can go to your local home improvement store like Lowes or Home Depot.
These stores will usually carry a small selection of fencing so if you decide to purchase from them you may not find exactly what you are
looking for. Also, there are some hidden fees that stores like these may add on to your purchase.
You would probably be better off ordering your fencing online.
If you purchase your fencing online you’ll find that the selection you have is enormous.
What you need to do is research the different online fencing retailers and find the one that you think is best.
Try and find an online retailer that has been around for more than five years and has a stellar record. Also try to find a retailer that is a
BBB (Better Business Bureau) business.
Make sure you get a good warranty also. Don’t purchase vinyl coated fencing without one.
That way if anything is wrong with your fence you get it replaced for free.
